Privacy Policy
Babycoming helps parents share labor and delivery updates with family and friends. You're trusting us with some of the most personal moments of your life, and we take that seriously. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
The short version
- We collect only what the page needs to work.
- We never sell your information, and we never use your photos for anything else.
- There are no ads and no tracking cookies.
- Family never needs an account.
- Your page and everything on it is deleted 12 months after baby arrives.
Who we are
Babycoming is run by Fourth & Gray LLC, a Georgia company. When this policy says "we" or "us," it means Fourth & Gray LLC. You can reach us anytime at hello@babycomingapp.com.
What we collect from parents
Parents are the people who create a page and post updates. When you use Babycoming, we collect:
- Account details: your email address and password. Your password is stored securely and we can't see it.
- Page details: your names, your baby's last name, your due date, whether you're sharing baby's sex, your theme, your page link, and your family photo.
- What you post: updates, statuses, and photos.
- Your announcement: baby's name, birth date and time, weight, length, your note, and your photo, if you choose to share them.
- Payment: when you pay, our payment provider handles your card. We don't see or store your full card number. We receive a record that you paid.
What we collect from family and friends
Family can follow a page without an account. If they choose to take part, we collect:
- A first name, if they add one when reacting, leaving a note, guessing, or asking to join.
- What they share: notes, reactions, and guesses about baby's arrival.
- Notification details, if they turn on alerts. Their browser gives us a technical address that lets us send a notification to that device. We don't receive a phone number or email for this.
- Approval requests, if the parents turn on approval. We store the name they give and a random code that lets their device back in once they're approved.
Information stored on your device
To keep things simple, the page saves a few small things in your browser, like the name you entered, which reactions you've tapped, whether you've seen the welcome card, and whether you've turned on alerts. For parents, it also keeps you signed in. This stays on your device. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't use analytics that follow you around the web.
How we use it
- To show your page to the people you share it with.
- To send notifications when parents post an update, share the announcement, or pause the page.
- To let parents approve visitors, hide notes, and manage their page.
- To process payment and send account emails, like a reminder before your page is deleted.
- To keep Babycoming secure and working, and to fix problems.
We never sell your information. We never use your photos or updates for advertising, marketing, or anything other than showing them on your page.
Who can see your page
Your page is private by link. Anyone who has your link can see it unless you turn on approval. With approval on, new visitors ask to join and can't see your updates or photos until you let them in. Your page isn't listed anywhere on Babycoming and is set so search engines don't show it.
Notes, reactions, and guesses from family can be seen by everyone who can see your page. Parents can hide or delete them.
Photos
Photos only appear on your page. Saving photos by pressing and holding, right-clicking, or dragging is turned off, and each photo carries a reminder not to save or share it. No website can prevent screenshots, so we recommend sharing your link only with people you trust.
Companies that help us run Babycoming
We use a small number of trusted providers to run the service. They only use your information to provide their service to us.
- Supabase: stores your page, posts, and photos, and handles parent sign in.
- Netlify: hosts the website.
- Stripe: processes payments.
- Google Fonts and jsDelivr: deliver the fonts and code the page uses. Like any website, they receive your device's internet address when your browser loads them.
- Apple, Google, and Mozilla: deliver notifications to devices that turn them on.
We may share information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users or the public.
How long we keep it
Your page stays up for 12 months after baby arrives. If no birth announcement is ever shared, it stays up for 12 months from the day the page went live. When that time is up, your page and everything on it, including photos, notes, reactions, and guesses, is permanently deleted. We'll email you before that happens.
If you start a page but never pay for it, it's deleted after 6 months without any activity. We'll email you first. You can ask us to delete your page or your account sooner at any time.
Your choices
- Parents can edit or delete any update, photo, note, reaction, or guess on their page at any time.
- Parents can pause or close their page whenever they need to.
- Family can turn off notifications in their browser or phone settings at any time.
- Anyone can ask us to see, correct, or delete information about them by emailing hello@babycomingapp.com. If a note or guess on someone else's page is yours, we'll work with the parents to remove it.
Children
Babycoming is for adults sharing news about their baby. Parents must be 18 or older to create a page. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security
We use encryption in transit, secure password storage, and database rules that limit who can see and change each page. No system is perfect, but we work to protect your information and will let you know if a problem affects you.
Changes to this policy
If we make important changes, we'll update the date at the top and let parents know by email before the changes take effect.
